Airline Training
At the airline, regardless of your background, your training will begin with a week of indoctrination on general subjects and another week of company-specific procedures. You’ll spend another two weeks on airplane systems, and then you’ll pair off with a training partner and have two weeks of simulator training. Once you finish the pre-checks, oral exams, and final check-rides, you’ll fly for 25 hours with a special instructor to get your initial operating experience in the airplane you’re assigned. After the initial training period (about 8 to 10 weeks), you’ll be given a line check and assigned to a crew for 100 hours of scheduled flights.
